Our Story

About Blockverse

A culturally rooted urban life-simulation game built for the youth, made from the truth.

Blockverse drops players into a realistic, mixed-reality version of the neighborhood, where every choice has weight, every move has consequences, and every situation mirrors what young people face every day.

More than a game, Blockverse is a social-emotional learning platform designed to teach decision-making, conflict resolution, accountability, and emotional intelligence through lived experiences. It shows the dangers, the temptations, the trauma, but also the possibilities, the mentors, the resources, and the paths to success.

The 10-week curriculum is built for Philadelphia schools, centering every lesson around scenarios students actually encounter — in class, on the block, and everywhere in between.

The Framework

What is Social-Emotional Learning?

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which young people develop the skills to understand and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. Research consistently shows that students who receive quality SEL instruction perform better academically, have fewer behavioral issues, and are better prepared to navigate the real challenges of adult life.

Blockverse brings SEL to life through immersive gameplay. Instead of worksheets or lectures, students practice these skills in high-stakes simulations - experiencing the weight of their choices in a safe environment before those same choices appear in real life. Every scenario in Blockverse is mapped to the CASEL framework, the gold standard for SEL in schools, ensuring that what students experience in the game translates to measurable growth in the classroom and beyond.

Self-Awareness

Recognizing one's emotions, values, and how they shape behavior.

Self-Management

Regulating emotions and impulses to reach personal goals.

Social Awareness

Understanding others' perspectives and showing empathy across differences.

Relationship Skills

Building healthy connections, communicating clearly, and resolving conflict.

Responsible Decision-Making

Weighing consequences and making ethical choices in complex situations.

Game-Based Learning

Blockverse runs on Roblox - the platform millions of students already know and love. We use that familiarity to deliver SEL experiences that actually land.

Philadelphia-Rooted

This isn't a program built somewhere else and handed to Philly schools. The neighborhoods, the characters, the scenarios - all of it is rooted right here.

Classroom-Ready

The 10-week curriculum aligns to SEL standards and fits into your existing school day. No extra burden on teachers, no disruption to the schedule.
